Old ways of doing are being phased out
To incentivize U.S. health care providers to use digital radiography (DR), the Medicare system began reducing payments by 20% last year for analog x-ray exams. This year, offices using computed radiography (CR) equipment will also have payment reductions, 7 percent for the next five years, and 10% after that.
While conventional radiography is largely a thing of the past, the reductions in payments for CR will affect many more radiology practices. According to the IMV 2017 X-ray/DR/CR Market Outlook Report, more than 8,200 CR units are active in the U.S., and all must replace their aged imaging equipment or face payment reductions.
The law currently applies to Medicare Part B outpatient radiology services in hospital outpatient departments, free-standing imaging centers and physician’s offices, but private payers will probably soon follow.
For those facing this impending economic reality, the time is now to make the change for the better. For the past two decades, the change to DR has been transforming imaging. Reina’s own research and product development has been focused on this newest modality. We provide the latest DR imaging solutions and protective systems for that investment.
DR panels can be costly and fragile. Reina Imaging’s Air-Ride corner protection and handle technology helps reduce the chance for detector drops. Accidental shocks and tough knocks happen with daily use; Reina Protect-A-Grid encasements offer smart protection for your facility needs.
Featuring 3-Handle Tru-Gonomic™ operation for ease in portability and placement, Air-Ride™ corner pocket suspension and our Twin-Lock™ are built in, for added impact security. They are manufactured from our one-piece HDPE material, right here in the U.S., for years of reliable protection, and backed by the industry’s best service model.
The Reina Imaging Mobile Trans-Former LLFS Grid Cabinet is designed and engineered specifically to enhance the process of care, workflow efficiencies, and clinical outcomes when performing stitching exams.
